Overview

An exciting opportunity within Durham County Council’s Compliance Team for an Electrical Safety Compliance Technician. You will serve as the designated competent person for electrical safety and compliance across the council’s portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of contact for internal teams and external contractors.
  • Ensure systems and records are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Carry out checks on completed works to uphold quality standards.
  • Support a consistent and compliant approach across all services.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant electrical technical discipline.
  • City & Guilds 2382-18 IET 18th Edition qualification or latest update.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Electrical Inspecting & Testing qualification.
  • Required to pass an in‑house driving assessment and apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Safeguarding

Durham County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced DBS check covering the Children’s Barred List and/or Adults Barred List.

Interview
