About the role
We are recruiting for Teaching Assistants at Eresby Special School.
Eresby Special School is a specialist Academy for pupils aged 2 to 19 with highly complex SEND, located in Spilsby, Lincolnshire, with a wide range of community services.
You will work in a fully equipped facility including a therapy suite, sensory studio, life skills facility, hydrotherapy pool, independent living facilities, cycle track, sensory garden, horticultural area, workshop, and external spaces.
Hours of up to 30 per week are available. Fixed daily hours are 9am to 3.30pm (6 hours per day plus 30 min unpaid break). Flexibility on days worked will be discussed at interview. Term time only – permanent roles.

Who we are looking for
You will have a passion for working with children and enjoy working within a team to support class teachers in delivering a high-quality education.
- Assist with the planning and preparation of activities, and in the delivery of local and national initiatives e.g. literacy and numeracy strategy
- Participate in the preparation of the classroom
- Monitor children’s needs and reporting these to a designated person
- Have familiarity with all relevant statements of special educational needs specific to the child
- Promote development and learning (physical, emotional, educational and social)
- Foster growth, self‑esteem and independence, observe and record development
- Carry out reasonable daily personal care/hygiene duties and administer basic first aid
- Assist with the movement of children in and around the school
- To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom
- To provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom
- To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
- To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
- Have excellent classroom practice
- To get involved in whole school life
- To be an active team player who shows initiative and works well as part of a team
