Job Overview
Tonic has been selected to source a roaming/relief chef for one of our client’s contract catering businesses located in the South East. The exact locations you will cover will depend on demand. You must be a driver and have your own vehicle.
Work Hours and Travel
The work is predominantly Monday to Friday day‑time only, with start times around 7:00 am until 3:30 pm and 40 hours per week. Work will be at B&I sites and independent schools. Travel time is not included in working hours; candidates must be willing to travel nationwide occasionally and provide flexibility for occasional evening functions. Expenses are paid at £0.35 p per mile.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a fresh‑food kitchen environment.
- Ensure high‑quality food in line with standards, managing kitchen operations.
- Work in varied kitchen teams, maintaining standard of food and dedication.
- Oversee all financial aspects of the kitchen.
Qualifications
- Chef with leadership experience in a fresh‑food environment.
- Passionate about food, fresh produce and cooking.
- Experience in managing financial aspects of a kitchen.
Requirements
- Must prove eligibility to live and work in the UK.
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
