Are you a passionate Music Teacher? Tradewind Secondary are recruiting for a Music Teacher to join a high-performing and well run school in Dunstable, Bedfordshire following the Summer break. This is a busy and vibrant school with good staff morale and a long term to permanent post. The school are looking for a teacher able to emphasise the importance of music in education. We are seeking applications from Music Teachers enthusiastic about contributing to our centre of excellence for music education and are available from September 2026 to commit to a full time or part time (0.8) basis. This post is offered on a temporary to permanent basis directly with the school with interviews to suit your availability. Based in Dunstable the school offers ample parking and is a walk and short bus ride from the train station. Parking is available for drivers and the school host a number of social events throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Lead ensembles and contribute to the wider department and support the school’s concert calendar.
- Deliver a practical, hands-on curriculum at KS3 in instrumental music and singing; KS4 follow the OCR GCSE specification over 3 years; KS5 follow the OCR A Level Music course.
- Support the extra-curricular program and provide opportunities for all musicians to participate in ensembles and performances throughout the year.
- Contribute to our centre of excellence for music education and participate in school events and performances.
- Be available from September 2026 and be prepared for either full-time or part-time (0.8) arrangement.
- Engage in a temporary-to-permanent appointment directly with the school and participate in an induction program.
- Lead on the music department’s activities in line with safeguarding and DBS requirements.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Applications welcomed from both newly qualified and experienced Music Teachers.
- Ability to lead ensembles and contribute to a wider department and concert calendar.
- Commitment to music education and to the school’s centre of excellence for music education.
- Safety and well-being of students is a priority; satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required.
