Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the overall well being and happiness of children in the camp.
- Ensure delivery of a program of daily activities suitable for the age range in a safe environment.
- Promote the ethos of Discover Activity Camps, providing an exceptional role model to assistants and children.
- Ensure correct equipment is at hand for activities.
- Promote safeguarding practices at all times, including awareness of recording and reporting procedures.
- Be responsible for security of premises, ensuring secure buildings/rooms upon departure using door codes and locks.
- Ensure all children are signed in and collected using a safe word.
- Provide a friendly welcome to all attendees, meeting parents.
- Accompany children around the site to different activities, supervise lunch and open play sessions.
- Plan staff breaks throughout the day and provide cover accordingly.
Skills
- Demonstrable experience working within a Holiday Club and the ability to run a day in camp successfully.
- Ability to adapt to different situations and think creatively.
- Enthusiasm and genuine passion for working with children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience coaching, teaching or instructing young people.
- Experience working in a busy environment as part of a friendly team, interfacing with parents, staff and children.
- Experience delivering other activities such as arts, dance, music, computing or science.
- Childcare/educational play certificates or similar qualifications.
Salary
£160 – £180 per day, including holiday pay. Under 20 y/o £14.04 per hour, including holiday pay.
