Overview

A fantastic SEN school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated Post‑16 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis from September. The school is known for experienced management, excellent staff retention, and a focus on providing outstanding education for young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small group assistance to students.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs.
• Encourage independence, communication and social development.
• Work closely with teaching staff, therapists and other professionals.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to record keeping.
• Assist with vocational, life skills and community‑based learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or adults with additional needs.
• A genuine interest in SEN education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A proactive and adaptable approach to learning and development.
• A patient and positive attitude.
• Previous experience with students with SLD, ASD or SEMH desirable but not essential.
