An opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join the North and West Oxfordshire Older Adults Community Mental Health Team, which provides specialist mental health care and treatment for adults over 65 years, with bases in Witney and Banbury.
We are looking for a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join a busy, friendly team. You will work mainly at Des Roches Square, Witney, but may also be required to work across the team’s other bases.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a busy reception area. Previous NHS experience is not required.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a polite and efficient reception service to visitors when required.
- Assist the service/team in all administration duties relating to the day to day running of the team/service.
- Provide a high standard of administrative and secretarial support to the team/service.
- Order, check, maintain and distribute equipment and supplies for the team and other agencies as required.
- Scan and upload documentation to the electronic patient record.
- Type accurately and distribute correspondence, minutes and other documentation.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- GCSE in Maths and English
Experience
- Proven experience of working in an office environment
- Experience of Office software packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience of working in the NHS
Knowledge
- Public facing etiquette i.e. how to deal with the public in a polite and effective manner
- Knowledge of Mental Health conditions and how they may affect people
Personal Qualities
- Good telephone manner
- Organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Positivity and enthusiasm
Practical requirements
- Willingness to travel between bases (Banbury and Witney) if required (this will be the exception not the rule)
