Birmingham City Council is seeking three Food Safety Officers to join its expanding Environmental Health team. The role is permanent and offers professional development in a diverse city environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Successful candidates will undertake inspections and investigations, enforce food hygiene and standards legislation, and take enforcement action where non‑compliance is identified across a range of food premises.
Qualifications and Experience
- Higher Certificate in Food Control.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Knowledge and practical experience of enforcing legislation, including drafting and serving notices, collecting evidence, writing witness statements, and preparing prosecution files.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to produce clear, concise written reports and correspondence.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Competence in IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications.
