The Role
The service provides a stepping stone to independence, by supporting people to regain lost skills, learn new skills, and adapt to the challenges that living independently can present. You will work within a CQC “Good” rated Home Support Reablement Council Team, and will have an opportunity to work with other professionals such as NHS colleagues, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, etc.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Moving and Handling
- Personal care
- Administering medication
- Ensuring service users dignity and wishes remain at the centre of care
- Supporting service users to regain functioning, maintain life skills, rebuild confidence and promote wellbeing
- Home Support Reablement is a short-term service with a quick turnover of service users
- Working in partnership with others to provide all aspects of care
28-hour contracts are available on a rolling rota with flexible shift patterns, including split shifts (see attached rota examples).
About You
Are you a caring, person-centred, committed individual? If so, we want to hear from you.
Do you have a Full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle to use for work purposes? You should have the ability to communicate clearly with people of all levels and work in the community to encourage engagement and independence. No experience is required for the role of home support worker, but a commitment to work in social care is essential.
