Higher Learning Teaching Assistant

Overview

Moorhill Primary School are looking for a part-time HLTA, or Higher-Level Teaching Assistant working 19 hours per week to assist teachers inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Preparing classrooms for lessons, including setting up televisions for video presentations and sourcing books and handouts for students
• Teaching classes unassisted, especially when Teachers are ill or on leave
• Planning and delivering learning and enrichment activities, either with Teachers or independently
• Working with small groups of students or individuals needing special attention
• Developing specialist curricula in areas of interest
• Assessing students’ progress and discussing development with Teachers, parents and Carers
• Consoling students who are unwell, injured or upset
