About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, proactive and flexible Driver / Caretaker to join our team. This is a varied and rewarding role combining transport duties with general maintenance and caretaking responsibilities, supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of our service.

Hours: Full‑time

Location: Holmfirth (HD9 3TQ)

Salary: £12.74/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport service users, staff, and visitors as required.
  • Ensure all journeys are planned efficiently and carried out in a timely manner.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and well maintained.
  • Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly.
  • Support passengers with boarding, seating and exiting vehicles in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Adhere to all road safety regulations and organisational policies.
  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks (e.g. minor repairs, decorating, furniture assembly).
  • Ensure the building, grounds and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.
  • Conduct routine health & safety checks and report hazards or faults.
  • Support with moving and handling furniture and equipment as required.
  • Oversee external contractors and assist with site access where needed.
  • Maintain stock of maintenance supplies and equipment.

Person Specification – Essential

  • Full UK driving licence (appropriate category for required vehicles).
  • Good driving record and confident driving ability.
  • Basic practical skills in maintenance and DIY tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of health & safety practices.
  • All successful candidates will be subject to a DVLA check.
  • We do not offer sponsorship to work in the UK and require at least 6 months of UK‑based work experience in any sector.
