We are seeking an inspiring and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our dedicated service supporting Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children, who are cared for by Cheshire East. Cheshire East Council is part of a national scheme that aims to provide a safe, supportive home environment to a young person under the age of 18 who is applying for asylum in the UK.

About the role:
As a Family Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children within Cheshire East settle into their home, supporting them to build support networks within the community, completing Life Story work to understand their experiences and signpost and refer to services to meet needs.
You will work closely with social workers, contributing to assessments, Care and Pathway Plans.

About you:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a recognised Child Care Qualification.
- Knowledge of legislation, guidance, policy, and procedures relating to Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children.
- Experience of building strong relationships with a range of children, young people and professionals.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative managing and prioritising own workload under pressure.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A full driving licence and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East’s rural nature.
