Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) – Secondary School, Manchester
Are you a confident, empathetic graduate interested in a career in education, or an experienced educator who has worked with students with behaviour needs? This long‑term position supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in Manchester.
About the role
The TA works closely with parents, teachers and senior leaders, builds relationships with students, acts as a role model, and tracks and monitors data such as attendance and progress.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Work closely with parents, teachers and senior leaders.
- Build excellent relationships with students and serve as a vital role model.
- Track and monitor attendance, progress and related data.
Remuneration
Paid £95–£115 per day.
Working hours
Monday – Friday school hours, term time only.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree 2:2 or above (psychology preferred but any subject considered).
- Confident, empathetic and resilient.
- Firm but fair approach with pupils.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students.
Training & screening
- DBS check required.
- Safeguarding training provided.
- Subject to child protection screening, including checks with former employers and Disclosure and Barring Checks.
