This is a reduced year (39 weeks per year) role. The pro rata salary is £25,214 to £26,694.
Leeds City College is seeking a Study Support Coach to join our 14‑16 Skills Programme. The programme is a safe and inclusive environment that allows young people to flourish with smaller class sizes, a reduced curriculum, and a focus on vocational‑based learning. It provides opportunities to maximise potential, raise aspirations, and embrace individuality.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with all staff to support individual learners or groups.
- Give academic and development support and coaching to all learners in the programme.
- Support teaching staff when individual learner behaviour and performance affects the learning of the group.
- Develop effective relationships with learners, role‑modeling mutual respect and high aspirations.
- Motivate and inspire learners to always try their best and show respect.
- Collaborate with staff to facilitate links with schools, parents and appropriate external agencies.
- Contribute to individual learner target setting and reviews and provide ongoing advice on progression routes pre‑ and post‑16.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally, including those aged 14‑16.
- Experience in delivering and supporting young people on a 1‑to‑1 basis.
- Understanding of barriers to learning and ways to overcome them, including effective intervention implementation.
- Ability to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
