Milestone Meadow is a specialist alternative provision supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We provide a nurturing, inclusive and highly personalised environment where children can develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Our unique provision combines structured teaching, therapeutic approaches and outdoor learning experiences to help children overcome barriers, achieve their individual goals and reach their full potential.

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2026.

The Role

Working closely with the Teacher and SENDCO, you will support children with a range of additional needs including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Learning Difficulties

You will play a vital role in helping children access learning, develop positive relationships, regulate emotions and achieve success both academically and personally.

Working Hours

  • Term Time Only
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • One day per week until 4:30pm

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • A caring, patient and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals
  • Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience working within a SEND, specialist school or alternative provision setting
  • Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
  • Childcare, Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification
