About the role

Justteachers are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a supportive Secondary school in Peterborough, who are seeking a committed Year 7 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term supply basis, starting ASAP.

This school places a strong emphasis on supporting pupils during their transition from primary to secondary education. Staff work collaboratively to ensure Year 7 pupils feel confident, settled, and supported both academically and emotionally as they begin the next stage of their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Year 7 pupils in lessons across the curriculum
• Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional guidance during transition
• Assist pupils with organisation, routines, and independence skills
• Work with small groups or individuals to reinforce learning and understanding
• Support behaviour and engagement in line with school expectations
• Assist teaching staff with classroom organisation and resources
• Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff and pastoral teams

Pre-requisites

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
• A calm, patient, and approachable manner
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Confidence working with pupils of varying abilities and needs
• Two recent references
