Are you a qualified Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, Childcare Practitioner or EYFS Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in welcoming schools and Early Years settings across Sunderland and South Tyneside?

Milk Education is recruiting enthusiastic and caring EYFS professionals to support children in Reception classes and Early Years settings on both a part-time and full-time basis throughout the academic year.

We are also working closely with a number of partner schools to recruit long-term and permanent EYFS support staff for September, making this a fantastic opportunity whether you’re looking for flexible supply work or your next permanent role.

EYFS Teaching Assistant Role

You will work within Early Years classrooms and Reception settings, supporting young children during the most important stage of their learning and development. You’ll help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where every child can grow in confidence and achieve their potential.

EYFS Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Supporting the class teacher with engaging Early Years activities and continuous provision
  • Working with individual children and small groups to support learning through play
  • Promoting children’s communication, language and social development
  • Supporting children’s personal, social and emotional wellbeing
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities
  • Encouraging independence, curiosity and confidence
  • Supporting children with additional needs where required
  • Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For in an EYFS Teaching Assistant

  • A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years, Childcare or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with children within a nursery, preschool or school EYFS setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning and development
  • A caring, patient and proactive approach
  • Availability for at least 1-2 days per
