Title: Dedicated Security Relief Officer – Berkshire

Job Objectives and Responsibilities
- Guaranteed 120 hours a month provided availability is given; refusal on available days results in no payment of guaranteed hours.
- Willing to travel within a 30‑mile radius.
- Must be flexible to work days and nights, weekends and bank holidays.
- Combination of 8–12 hour shifts depending on the site requirement.
- Must be available for 5 days out of 7 each week, including weekends, with one guaranteed weekend off every 5 weeks.
Main Duties
- Ensure all incidents are logged and directed effectively through to completion.
- Effectively communicate business issues to the Operations Manager and/or relevant departments.
- Maintain the standards of the site for access/egress and visitor regulation.
- Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are maintained at all times.
- Complete timely and accurate reports on all security activities within the site and present to the Security Management team.
- Be fully conversant with the methods of working of all equipment.
- Ensure assignment instructions are signed and followed; raise corrective actions when procedures are not followed.
- Ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled; report any issues to the Manager.
- Handle all day‑to‑day enquiries relating to the daily operation of the security of the site and report to the Manager.
- Respond to any other reasonable requests from management or client.
- Maintain awareness of key performance indicators and service level agreements.
- Execute site open and lock‑down procedures.
- Complete and check all accident and Health & Safety reports.
Person Specification
- Excellent analytical skills to evaluate information and prioritise activities.
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence.
- British Passport holder for SC clearance.
- Full 5‑year checkable history.
- Good understanding of security requirements and functions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for reports, incidents and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with security officers, managers and directors.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
- Willingness to share knowledge and support team members.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follow group and company policies and procedures at all times.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your line manager and/or via the divisional incident reporting system.
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie’s and client information security procedures in all activities.
- Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
- Report actual and suspected security incidents.
