Hgv Driver

Southwark Council is offering an initial temporary contract for 3 to 6 months for the role of HGV Driver (SE151LE). The role may be extended or offered a permanent position to the successful candidate, with a rate that is negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Drivers are required to help with loading and to be able to plot their route through the daily schedule.
• Candidates must be prepared to work flexibly (including beyond 2 pm) to ensure all collections are completed within a small, settled team.
• Develop and maintain interpersonal skills to work well with a small team of loaders and drivers.
• Manual handling training will be provided.
• Driver assistance skills will be considered an advantage; training can be provided.

Qualifications

• Driver assistance skills, with training available.
• Previous dustcart driving experience, preferably with a local authority and/or a waste services company.
