Primary SEN Teaching Assistant – September 2026 start
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant seeking a new full‑time role locally?
We are a welcoming two‑form entry primary school in Southwark looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2026.
Role Overview
This long‑term opportunity begins in September 2026 and continues until July 2027, with potential for extension. You will support two KS1 pupils with Global Developmental Delay, Down syndrome and ASD on a rotational basis.
Responsibilities
- Assist pupils in accessing learning and developing social skills.
- Support individual targets in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Work alongside experienced staff to provide day‑to‑day support.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working with children is desirable.
- Experience supporting SEN, particularly ASD, Down syndrome or Global Developmental Delay, is advantageous.
- Patient, calm, caring and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work well as part of a team.
Benefits & Working Conditions
Full‑time, Monday to Friday from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm. Pay £100‑£117 per day (weekly).
Excellent support and training are available, including SEN training opportunities from the Senior Leadership Team.
