Nurture Teacher (NTA FLT LA) Flitwick, England

Salary: GBP32000 – GBP50000 per annum

Academics are working in partnership with a specialist independent school in Flitwick to recruit a passionate Nurture Teacher for an exciting new provision. The school is expanding its therapeutic support offer through the introduction of a brand-new nurture room, complementing its two existing nurture provisions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is committed to supporting vulnerable and neurodivergent learners in a nurturing, relationship-focused environment. Whether you are an experienced SEN Teacher, a primary-trained practitioner, or an ECT looking to begin your career within specialist education, this role offers excellent support and professional development opportunities.

The Role

As a Nurture Teacher, you will work with a small group of pupils who benefit from a highly personalised approach to learning. You will create a safe and structured environment where children can develop emotionally, socially, and academically.

Working closely with therapists, support staff, and school leaders, you will deliver engaging and flexible learning experiences that support each pupil’s individual needs while promoting confidence, resilience, and independence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
  • Have a nurturing and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Understand attachment-informed, trauma-responsive, and relationship-based practice.
  • Be passionate about supporting children with additional needs and barriers to learning.
  • Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in delivering a personalised curriculum.
