IT Operations Apprentice
The IT Operations Apprentice will help deliver IT support to customers across Primary Care (GP Practices) within Humber & North Yorkshire locality as part of their training with N3i. The role will involve primarily first and second line technical support and the provision of IT equipment when demand requires.
About the Role
The post holder will have a friendly, customer‑focused attitude and be keen to learn while putting the customer first at all times. The post holder will contribute to a well‑run and efficient IT Operations team.
Training
In this role, you’ll work towards your L3 Information Communication Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1st line IT support via phone, remote access, and face‑to‑face, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Log, prioritise, and resolve IT incidents within agreed SLAs, escalating where required.
- Build strong relationships with customers and colleagues, delivering professional, friendly, and high‑quality customer service.
- Support the deployment of IT equipment, including imaging devices, and remotely installing software.
- Maintain accurate service desk records, process enquiries, and complete administrative tasks to support IT operations.
- Follow IT security, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures, reporting incidents in line with organisational policies.
- Assist with technical projects and identify training needs to support continuous service improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office/software applications.
- Experience with Active Directory administration, including account creation and password resets.
- Good understanding of hardware and software support in a corporate IT environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a professional, customer‑focused approach.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyse and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
- GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Must have the right to work in the UK, with valid residency status.
