SEN Teacher – Pear Tree High School
This is a permanent, full‑time role on teaching terms, offering an MPS‑UPS salary plus an SEN allowance, to start September 2026.
Pear Tree High School is a purpose‑built SEND school in Cheadle Hulme, dedicated to providing an outstanding education for students with significant learning needs. The curriculum is tailored to support pupils from Key Stage 3 through to post‑16, with a focus on academic, social and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote the progress, wellbeing and engagement of all students.
- Deliver personalised, high‑quality lessons that meet the learning needs of all pupils.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with school policy.
- Participate in interventions to raise student achievement and attainment.
- Support and contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
- Collaborate with internal and external agencies to support students’ learning and development.
- Act as a role model in professional practice, demonstrating high standards of teaching, behaviour management and safeguarding.
- Contribute to enrichment activities and the wider life of the school.

Essential Attributes
- Qualified teacher status (QTS); experience teaching students with SEND is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, colleagues and parents/carers.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
- Dedication to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
