HGV Class 1 Drivers

Location: Corby

Pay: £18.00 Days / £21 Sat / £22 Sun

The Role

• Average shift length: 10-12 hours
• 7-day operation – however the client can accomodate drivers looking for Monday to Friday!
• AM shifts: typically start between 05:00-07:00

Delivery area spans: North: Manchester/Wakefield/Scunthorpe/ Preston – Usually night drivers; West: South Wales; South: London (Outer)

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering a mixture of products such as crisps, spices, glass jars and cleaning products.
• It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure the load is strapped securely, depending on the product.
• Occasionally certain sites will require you to use pump truck to unload.
• Most sites, no hand balling involved.
• Safely operate and drive HGV 1 (C E) vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
• Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics team members.
• Shifts are booked daily with shift confirmation times texted to you the day before.
• No driving assessment on site, but paperwork to be complete before first shift.

Requirements

• Valid HGV 1 C E licence.
• Up-to-date Tacho Digi Card and an up-to-date DCPC Card.
• Min 10 months HGV Class 1 C E experience.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• We will accept up to 6 points on your licence, but no DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements.
