Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning? Do you have experience working with students who display challenging behaviour, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, or additional learning needs?
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Secondary Behaviour Support Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Bristol. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to helping students develop positive behaviours, improve engagement in education, and achieve their full potential.
As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional support both inside and outside the classroom. You will build positive relationships, promote emotional wellbeing, and implement behaviour strategies that enable students to succeed academically and socially.
- Provide one-to-one and small group behavioural support.
- Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
- Help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral teams to improve student engagement.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour interventions.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor for vulnerable young people.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure.
- Experienced in behaviour support, youth work, education, coaching, or similar settings.
- Confident managing challenging behaviour in a professional manner.
- Skilled at building trust and positive relationships.
