Class 1 (CE) Drivers – Days & Nights

Howden, East Yorkshire

Ongoing work with full-time potential. The Best Connection are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 (CE) Drivers on behalf of our client – one of the UK’s leading kitchen furniture manufacturers based in Howden.

Due to increased volumes, we are offering drivers the opportunity to complete an assessment and induction, leading to ongoing work through to mid‑November, with potential for longer‑term opportunities.

The Role

Day Drivers

• Curtain sider, multi‑drop deliveries
• Delivering flat‑packed, palletised kitchen furniture to trade outlets
• Occasional return backloads
• Start times between 04:00 – 09:00

Night Drivers

• Curtain sider trunking to RDCs
• Return loads often consist of raw materials
• Typically no handball involved

Pay Rates

• £19.94 per hour – Monday to Friday
• £24.95 per hour – Weekends
• £15.66 night shift allowance (per shift)
• £31.65 night out allowance
• All breaks paid
• Minimum 8 hours paid per shift

Induction

• Day drivers: 2‑day induction
• Night drivers: 1‑night induction
• Paid induction with guaranteed minimum hours
• Ongoing full‑time work available after successful completion

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year Class 1 (CE) experience with active driving
• Strong experience with curtain side trailers & load securing (strapping)
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail
• Full compliance with tachograph & WTD regulations

Drivers will be monitored via Microlise, so adherence to best driving practice is essential.

Additional Criteria

• Maximum 6 minor points
• No DR, DG, or DD endorsements
