Salary: £474.10–£549.80 per week

Working Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm

Responsibilities

You may support pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Additional Learning Needs, including:

  • ASC Autism Spectrum Condition
  • ADHD Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • SEMH Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • MLD Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • SLD Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Sensory Processing Needs

As part of the role, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one support and small-group interventions
  • Support personalised learning programmes tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Assist with classroom learning activities and daily routines
  • Support communication using visual aids, structured communication systems, and autism-friendly approaches
  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation, social interaction, and independence skills
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and participation in learning
  • Support pupils during transitions and throughout daily routines
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and school staff
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and wider support teams
  • Contribute to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

  • Residential childcare
  • Youth and community work
  • Nursery and early years settings
  • Sports coaching and mentoring
  • Psychology, health, and social care backgrounds

Successful candidates will typically demonstrate:

  • A patient, resilient, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships
  • Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Understanding of autism, communication needs, or sensory needs (desirable)
  • CACHE Level 2, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • A willingness to learn and develop within SEN and ALN education
