Overview

26 hours a week (6.5 Hours a day) – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Fridays

We are seeking to appoint a Technology Technician to provide technical support to the Design & Technology department, specialising in Textiles and Food Technology. Responsibilities include the preparation of materials and resources, maintenance of tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards, and supporting staff and students during practical sessions to facilitate effective teaching and learning. Previous experience of working in a school and possession of a current Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous but are not essential as full training will be given.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Design & Technology department in Textiles and Food Technology.
  • Prepare materials and resources for practical sessions.
  • Maintenance of tools and equipment and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Support staff and students during practical sessions to facilitate effective teaching and learning.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience working in a school is desirable but not essential.
  • Current Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided.
