An exciting opportunity has arisen at our wonderful setting – Heartwood Church of England VC Primary and Nursery School. We are seeking an ambitious, nurturing and dedicated professional to join our school.

Responsibilities

The Governors are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work at our friendly, caring school. The job involves regular PPA cover across the whole school, covering classes, leading intervention groups and supporting in class. This may involve preparing and delivering activities for whole class learning on a short-term basis. The role requires flexibility, initiative and a supportive attitude.

Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills GCSE grade C/4 or above.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience of working in and supervising classes.
  • Have good behaviour management strategies.
  • Be able to use their own initiative to support teaching and learning.
  • Be calm, positive and flexible.
  • Use assessment to inform planning and teaching.
  • Champion all children to fulfil their potential.
  • Has a warm personality and a good sense of humour.
  • Committed to building strong relationships with the whole school community.
  • Values and works hard to keep and maintain an effective classroom environment.
  • Promotes the school’s vision and values.
