Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, high‑quality, customer‑focused delivery and collection service for libraries, museums, community hubs, and associated traded services.
- Transport a wide range of resources, including books, furniture, shelving, salvage, and other equipment, across West and North Northamptonshire, supporting teams in delivering services.
- Commit to delivering an excellent customer experience, ensuring high standards of customer service at all times.
- Safely and efficiently deliver resources, operating a van in line with Road Traffic Act regulations, following planned schedules and responding to ad‑hoc requests.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, maintenance, cleaning, and refuelling in accordance with council procedures.
- Support all aspects of loading, unloading, and warehousing of service and supplier resources.
- Ensure safe van operation in all conditions and adhere to all relevant processes, promptly reporting any issues to the appropriate manager.
Qualifications
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Experience or willingness to operate a van in compliance with Road Traffic Act regulations.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Reliability, punctuality and adherence to schedules.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
