The Role
As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and associated learning needs.
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
- Support the development of communication, social interaction, attention, and emotional regulation skills.
- Implement strategies recommended by the SENCO and external professionals.
- Help create a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and support staff.
- Support intervention programmes designed to improve academic and social outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for graduates who:
- Hold a degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, or a related field.
- Have a genuine interest in Autism, ADHD, child development, and special educational needs.
- Are considering a future career in psychology, therapy, teaching, or education.
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Have experience working with children or young people through tutoring, mentoring, youth work, sports coaching, voluntary work, or educational settings.
- Previous experience supporting Autism or ADHD is beneficial but not essential.
