Role Summary

Suffolk New College is looking for an Advice and Guidance Assistant (on-site).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Student Services Directorate working within the Learning Curves (learning resource and study centres) at our Ipswich and Suffolk Rural campuses.

Reporting to the Advice, Guidance and Welfare Co‑ordinator, you will help ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the College’s Learning Curve facilities and provide careers information advice and guidance to learners, helping them to develop their achievement, success, progression and future employability.

You will be a dedicated, learner‑focused individual with experience working with young people, organised, self‑motivated, able to work on your own initiative and committed to supporting learners to achieve and progress.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day‑to‑day operation of Learning Curve facilities.
  • Provide careers information, advice and guidance to students.
  • Promote learner achievement, success, progression and employability.
  • Work independently, proactively support young people and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • a GCSE grade C / 4 in English and Mathematics (or Level 2 equivalent)
  • a Level 3 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance or equivalent (or willingness to work toward Level 4)

Job Details

  • Salary: £24,810 per annum
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
  • Contract: Permanent (required as soon as possible)
  • Reference: 5265
  • Location: Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 1LT (may require occasional travel to On the Coast campuses)
