DT Technician

Design Technology Technician – Secondary School (Sheffield)

Contract: Full‑time, Temporary | Start Date: ASAP | Duration: Ongoing cover | Salary: £100–£130 per day (dependent on experience)

Role

• Preparing materials and resources for practical DT lessons
• Cutting timber and stock ready for student projects
• Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring tools are safe for use
• Supporting teachers with lesson preparation and practical activities
• Managing stock levels and ordering materials where required
• Ensuring the workshop complies with health and safety regulations

Essential Requirements

• Experience working as a Design Technology Technician or within a similar workshop environment
• Secondary Materials Health & Safety (SMHS)
• Safe Use of Wood‑Sawing Machines (S1HS)
• Essential Health & Safety for D&T Workshop Technicians

Desirable Qualifications

• Safe Use of Planer/Thicknesser Machine (S8HS)
