About Us

Westminster City Council’s Adult Education Service (WAES) offers a range of courses across ESOL, English, Maths, Digital, Accounting, Community Learning, Childcare, Teaching, Languages, Creative Arts and Culture.

Role Overview

As a Hairdressing & Barbering Tutor, you will deliver face‑to‑face and online training to learners enrolled with WAES, preparing course outlines, lesson plans, coordinating resources, monitoring attendance, providing feedback, and conducting one‑to‑one and tutorial sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare course outlines and lesson plans.
  • Coordinate resources and materials for courses.
  • Teach 2 days a week, monitor attendance, punctuality and behaviour.
  • Provide support and guidance to learners.
  • Assess and give feedback on learners’ work.
  • Conduct one‑to‑one and tutorial sessions.

Qualifications

  • Women’s Hairdressing and Men’s Barbering – Level 3 or above.
  • Assessor and IAQ.
  • Teaching qualification (PTLLS minimum).

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience delivering training in a face‑to‑face environment and using online e‑portfolio systems for assessment.

Personal Qualities

A team player with excellent communication, organisation and planning skills, capable of inspiring and motivating learners to reach their full potential.
