Kames are recruiting for a deckhand / relief skipper for its harvest vessel Tiffany II, a Damen 22m landing craft launched in 2022.
As deckhand/relief skipper you will assist the skipper in all daily operations, support the harvesting process and act as relief skipper when required. The harvesting operation rotates between Loch Melfort and Craignish, Argyll, and Loch Pooltiel, Skye. After September 2026 the vessel will be based in Argyll. Accommodation is provided when on Skye. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in vessel work and aquaculture, with potential to develop to a skipper.
We offer an excellent financial package with a starting salary of £33,000 per annum, working Monday to Friday 8‑5 PM. Overtime is required during busy periods. A full driving licence is essential. Candidates with vessel training and/or further education in aquaculture will be at an advantage. Experience in the industry will be a real advantage.

Responsibilities
- Assisting the skipper in the safe day‑to‑day operation of MV Tiffany II
- Tiffany II is primarily a harvest vessel, ensuring highest fish welfare at end of life
- Supporting fish farm operations including feeding, net maintenance, and stock management
- Mooring, anchoring, and carrying out general seamanship duties
- Handling and transporting equipment and supplies to farm sites
- Carrying out routine vessel maintenance and keeping the vessel clean and tidy
- Monitoring fish health and environmental conditions as directed
- Adhering to all health, safety, and maritime regulations at all times
