Graduate Teaching Assistant – Behaviour & Additional Needs (Year 2, 1:1 Support)

Pay: From £92.63 per day (weekly pay)

About the Role
You will support a Year 2 pupil with behavioural and additional learning needs (ALN) on a 1:1 basis in a primary school.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing consistent 1:1 classroom support
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Using trauma‑informed and de‑escalation strategies
- Following behaviour and support plans
- Encouraging engagement with learning and routines
- Supporting transitions and maintaining a calm environment
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Legal qualification in Psychology, Sociology, Education or a related field
- Empathetic and emotionally intelligent
- Proactive and adaptable
- Firm but fair approach
- Interest in long‑term career progression in education
Desirable experience includes:
- Working with children in education, coaching, care or youth work
- Supporting ALN/SEN or behavioural needs

Additional Information
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position; the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
