Job Title: Class 2 Driver

Reports to: Warehouse & Distribution Manager

Depot: LWC Eastbourne

Overview

A practical Class 2 driving role delivering to pubs, bars and customers, combining safe, compliant driving with delivery work. This is a customer-facing position suited to drivers who take pride in doing the job properly, working as part of a team, and delivering a reliable service day in, day out.

Main Duties

  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic defect reporting to ensure the vehicle is safe and roadworthy.
  • Deliver drinks to pubs, bars, and customers safely and on time, following the planned route.
  • Work to depot rota requirements to ensure the required customer service and delivery.
  • Load and unload stock using appropriate equipment (e.g. sack barrows) with manual handling involved.
  • Ensure all loads are secured correctly using appropriate load restraints to prevent movement of stock and equipment in transit.
  • Check deliveries against paperwork and ensure accuracy at point of drop.
  • Collect empties (kegs, cases, gas bottles) and return them safely to the site.
  • Keep customers informed of any delivery issues, shortages, or delays.
  • Complete delivery paperwork and/or handheld device tasks as required and collect payments when required.
  • Maintain customer confidence by keeping information strictly confidential regarding premises security and operational information.
  • Work safely at all times, following company and site health & safety procedures.
  • Comply with driver hours, Working Time Directive Regulations, and tachograph requirements at all times.
  • Support the warehouse team when needed (e.g. loading vehicles, sorting returns, etc).
  • Have good presentation in the correct LWC Drinks uniform at all times.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph card.
  • Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph rules, and working time regulations.
  • Good understanding of safe loading practices, including the use of load restraint systems.
  • Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude with customers.
  • Good safety practices and driving habits.
  • Possess the correct driving licence required for the vehicle.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Additional Information

  • Monday – Friday, 7am – 5pm.
  • 47 hours a week.
