Delivery Driver

Pertemps is supporting Royal Mail in recruiting a Delivery Driver to join their team in Petworth on a temporary basis, earning £13.69 per hour. This role involves up to 37 hours weekly, Monday to Friday with weekend availability, starting shifts between 7:45am and 15:45.

You will begin at the local delivery office sorting and loading parcels, using a handheld device for signature capture and route navigation. Deliveries are made on foot and by vehicle, requiring walking up to eight miles daily while carrying mail bags weighing up to 16kg. Strong customer service skills and comfort working independently outdoors are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Start your shift at the local delivery office to sort and load your deliveries
• Use a handheld device for signature capture and route navigation
• Deliver letters and parcels by foot and/or vehicle – walking up to 8 miles per day
• Lift and carry mail bags (up to 16kg) and parcels (up to 20kg)
• Use delivery trolleys when required

Requirements

• Full UK manual driving licence (maximum 6 points; clean licence preferred)
• Previous delivery or driving experience is beneficial but not essential
• Excellent time management and customer service skills
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
