Overview
Driver Hire Carlisle is recruiting HGV Drivers for long‑term ongoing work in Carlisle, Workington and Whitehaven. This is a steady, reliable role with the possibility of switching to temp‑perm. New passes accepted.
The role involves operating a HGV Class 2 rear‑wheel‑drive bin wagon collecting waste bins around residential, commercial and industrial estates – safety, professionalism and compliance are essential.
All sites have a ½ day office induction followed by a ½ day vehicle training. Those with minimal or no experience will undertake a driving assessment.

- Carlisle – 07:00 am
- Workington – 06:15 am
- Whitehaven – 07:15 am
Responsibilities
- Shifts run Monday – Friday
- Saturday overtime available
- Overtime paid after 39 hours
- £17.00 pay advance Monday‑Friday
- £25.00 pay advance Saturday / overtime
- £33.50 pay advance Sunday / Bank Holidays
- Complete local and regional collections as required
- Carry out daily vehicle checks
- Immediate starts
- Represent the client and Driver Hire Carlisle professionally
Qualifications and Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (Class 2)
- New passes accepted
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong understanding of site safety and procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
