An exciting position has opened with the Compliance team at Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter. The Compliance team is responsible for product safety and regulatory compliance across all product categories for Warner Bros Tours, Retail stores, and website. The team ensures that all products developed are safe and suitable for market.
Based at our offices in Leavesden Park, as Junior Compliance Technologist you will work across the product development cycle to deliver innovative, high quality, fit‑for‑purpose products that are safe and globally compliant with testing and labelling regulations. Categories will include apparel and soft lines as a focus, but may extend to hardlines, drinkware and toys.
You will have excellent technical knowledge of garment fitting, grading and construction, product safety and global regulatory requirements to cover our markets, with a background as a Garment Technologist or equivalent within the Retail sector, likely focusing on soft lines and apparel.
Role Accountabilities
- Provide safety and compliance support throughout the product development lifecycle for multiple categories (clothing, accessories, gifts, toys), including garment specifications, fit sessions, risk assessment, and ensuring products are suitable for target markets and regions.
- Collaborate with Buying, Design, Merchandising, and Sourcing teams, as well as suppliers, to manage critical paths, conduct seasonal reviews, and deliver high‑quality, compliant products on time.
- Ensure product and packaging quality, safety, and compliance through effective supplier management, material and manufacturing oversight, and accurate specifications, testing, and packaging approvals.
- Lead garment fitting and technical specification management, maintaining block libraries, ensuring consistent grading across all ranges, and supporting compliance frameworks across global markets.
- Drive product quality and innovation through fabric and trim development, testing, and continuous improvement of materials, construction standards, and regulatory processes.
- Own and maintain compliance records, documentation, testing processes, and technical files to ensure timely, cost‑effective regulatory adherence, in line with global regulations (e.g., EPR, Plastic Packaging Tax).
Qualifications & Experience
- In‑depth understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, fabrics, testing and performance standards for both adults and children’s wear.
- Knowledge of global compliance, product safety and quality regulations, including REACH and CPISA.
- Strong communication skills, able to maintain excellent working relationships.
- Highly analytical, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience in a similar role, at a fast‑paced retailer or with a licensed supplier.
- Hands‑on experience in record keeping and administration within product safety and regulatory compliance.
Onsite Working – This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work.
