Urgent Care Assistant – Chippenham (Part-time, Out of hours)

HealthHero is recruiting an Urgent Care Assistant to perform driving, receptionist and base duties supporting Integrated Urgent Care services across Wiltshire, Swindon, Bath and North East Somerset. The role is part‑time, permanent and involves weekday evenings, weekends and overnight sessions (23:00‑08:00). Shift patterns and rota flexibility will be discussed during the application process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive clinicians to patients’ homes safely and in compliance with driving regulations.
  • Perform vehicle checks at the start and finish of each shift.
  • Accurately record use of medications and consumables on shift.
  • Act as the first point of contact for patients in designated treatment centres, supporting clinicians and conducting comfort and welfare checks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of the treatment centre.
  • Use computer systems to manage medication and consumable stock, replenish stock at shift end and monitor rotation and expiry dates.
  • Assist with CPR and other emergency response duties if required.
  • Attend to a range of non‑clinical support tasks, including reception and administrative duties.

About You

  • Confidently interact with patients, relatives and carers.
  • Demonstrate compassion, respect and professionalism under pressure.
  • Show strong attention to detail and solid administrative skills.
  • Be personable, engaging and reassuring.
  • Work independently in a variety of settings, including long periods in a vehicle or at a reception desk.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with no more than six registered penalty points and a good level of driving experience.
