Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? A welcoming and specialist SEND school in SW15 is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team from September on a temp to perm basis.
The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long‑term role in a highly supportive specialist setting while making a real difference to pupils’ daily lives.
The Role
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting with learning, communication and social development
- Supporting pupils with complex needs and autism
- Implementing positive behaviour support strategies
- Assisting with personal care and mobility needs where required
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and wider support staff
- Helping to create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in SEND, care, support work, youth work or education is desirable
- Team Teach trained or willing to undertake Team Teach training
- Patient, resilient and proactive approach
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on, physically active environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
