Orthodontic & OMFS Department
Band 6 £39,959 – £48,117 per annum pro rata if part‑time.
Fixed term until 30 June 2027.
Hours: 37.5 per week (flexible working considered).
We are looking to appoint a GDC‑registered Dental Technologist to provide technical support to the Trust’s clinicians, predominantly Orthodontics. Orthodontic technology experience is essential, and the candidate must be able to manufacture the full range of simple and complex orthodontic appliances.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture highly specialised complex orthodontic work with individual accountability across a wide range of activities.
- Participate proactively in the development and implementation of the 3D point‑of‑care service within the Trust community.
- Advise, instruct, and support clinicians of all grades, nursing staff, and students in dental technology matters.
- Ensure technical and clinical practices and protocol pathways are adhered to and modified as required.
- Contribute original thought to the design and development of prototype appliances and devices.
Qualifications
- GDC registration as a Dental Technologist.
- Orthodontic technology experience essential.
- Ability to fabricate a full range of orthodontic appliances.
- Desirable: experience working within an NHS Trust.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn and develop.
- Additional skills in clinical photography and IT for treatment planning and audit are advantageous.
Initial probationary period of six months, extendable up to twelve months.
