As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve meaningful progress.
Working closely with teachers and wider support staff, you’ll contribute to a positive and structured learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their individual potential.
Your responsibilities will include delivering tailored one-to-one support, assisting with small group learning, adapting classroom activities to suit individual needs, promoting communication and independence, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils regulate their emotions throughout the school day.
You’ll play an important role in ensuring every learner feels included, respected and supported.
This position would suit someone who is calm under pressure, highly adaptable and genuinely passionate about improving outcomes for children with SEND.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
- A proactive attitude and the confidence to work independently.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Patience, resilience and a nurturing approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals.
