History Teacher – Full time, Permanent, Starting September 2026

Pupils respond well to purposeful History lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and consistent academic progress across year groups.

Responsibilities

  • Teach History full-time across relevant secondary year groups
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop analytical thinking and historical understanding
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet varied learning needs and abilities
  • Maintain consistent behaviour expectations and a positive classroom climate
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Contribute to departmental planning and collaborative curriculum development
  • Support pupils in developing strong essay‑writing, source analysis, and contextual knowledge
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong History teaching experience
  • Confident in delivering History at KS3 and KS4
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities
  • Able to motivate and support learners of mixed abilities
  • Reflective, proactive, and committed to high‑quality teaching
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well‑being
