Teaching Assistant (Special School) – Level 2 Grade 4

Chasetown Community School is looking for an inspiring, professional and motivated teaching assistant to support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs in KS2 and KS3. The successful candidate will work as a 1:1 TA, offering dedicated, well‑planned support to foster academic, behavioural and personal development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources, and implementing agreed learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Collaborating with staff to plan, evaluate and adjust learning activities as needed.
  • Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording.
  • Providing objective and accurate feedback and reports to other staff, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence.
  • Maintaining and updating records as required and contributing to reviews of systems and records.
  • Working with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, with a good knowledge of SEND and safeguarding legislation.
