Female Advanced Support Worker Specialist
Community Integrated Care is recruiting for an Advanced Support Worker Specialist to work predominantly with a young adult with learning disabilities and autism, who has complex needs. The role supports her in a variety of activities, including drama, role play, singing, dancing, cooking, and active lifestyle pursuits such as gym sessions, running and yoga.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern
- Full time: 39 hours per week, 4 nights per weekend.
- Part time: minimum 24 hours per week, hours allocated on a pro‑rated basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a trusting, empathetic relationship with the person supported.
- Facilitate daily activities and maintain a positive, playful environment.
- Use PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) principles to support behaviour management.
- Engage the person in extra‑curricular activities (gym, dance, cooking, pet care).
- Observe and record changes in behaviour, health and wellbeing.
- Partner with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans.
- Support physical fitness and well‑being through exercise and healthy eating.
- Deliver care with a trauma‑informed, person‑centred approach.
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent) or substantial experience in social care.
- Experience delivering PBS‑based support.
- Experience working with challenging behaviours, autism and sensory communication.
- Good observation and communication skills.
- Commitment to consistency, reliability and building trust.
- Positive, fresh outlook, ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Capacity to participate in a recruitment assessment day.
