Electrical Repair Technician

Location: Middleton, England, North West

Job Type: Permanent (Contract and Temporary options available)

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 3:30pm, Friday 7:30am to 1:30pm (with some flexibility)

Responsibilities

• Set up electronic systems and devices.
• Diagnose, repair, and refurbish industrial electronic equipment.
• Troubleshoot electronic circuits to component and board level, effectively identifying failures.
• Use diverse test equipment.
• Repair and/or replace electronic components to board level, including diodes, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits.
• Isolate problems between test environment and units under test, and resolve as necessary.
• Operate soldering and desoldering equipment.
• Record and interpret test data to determine condition and assess need for further analysis.
• Recognise various electronic components and their functions.
• Read and comprehend complex manuals and diagrams.
• Maintain inventory.
• Attend regular training workshops.
• Identify potential areas for improvement of internal processes and procedures.
• Ensure all tools are operated in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Electronic Technician or Electrical Repair Technician.
• Completed exams in Electronics (not essential).
• Excellent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to interpret electronic schematics and product drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
