Class 1 Driver

Key Responsibilities

• Transport rail plant and heavy machinery using low loader trailers.
• Carry out vehicle and load safety checks before and after each journey.
• Ensure all loads are secured in accordance with legal and company requirements.
• Deliver and collect equipment from rail depots, construction sites, and project locations.
• Complete all relevant transport documentation accurately.
• Maintain high standards of safety and professionalism at all times.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous low loader experience is essential.
• Experience transporting plant and machinery essential.
• Good understanding of load securing procedures and transport regulations.
• Strong safety awareness and professional attitude.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and occasional nights away when required.

Pay Rates

HGV 1 Day Low Loader: £19 ph basic, £28.50 ph overtime after 8 hrsHGV 1 Night Low Loader: £20 ph basic, £30 ph overtime after 8 hrsHGV 1 Weekend Low Loader: £21 ph basic, £31.50 ph overtime after 8 hrs
