SEN Tutor – Adult Learning. Salary: £31,000-£35,000. Permanent opportunity. Student contact Monday–Thursday, Fridays for planning and administration.
Pertemps Education is recruiting on behalf of Green Corridor, a specialist provision supporting young people aged 16-25 with additional needs. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed SEN Tutor to join the dedicated team.
About the School
Green Corridor provides specialist education for students aged 16-25, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The majority of learners have needs associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). Class sizes are small, with a maximum of eight students, allowing staff to provide highly personalised support and meaningful learning experiences.
Role Description
This rewarding position focuses on helping young people bridge the gap between education and the world of work. You will deliver engaging, practical learning that equips students with essential life skills, independence and employability skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.
- Support students with ASD and SEMH needs to develop independence and confidence.
- Teach practical and real‑life skills that prepare learners for adulthood and employment.
- Monitor progress and contribute to reviews and target setting.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Ideal Candidate
- Hold a Level 3 qualification or above in Education and Learning.
- Have substantial experience delivering learning within an SEN environment.
- Have worked in positions such as HLTA, Instructor, or Tutor within specialist settings.
- Have experience supporting learners with ASD and SEMH needs.
- Be passionate about helping young adults develop the skills needed for independent living and employment.
- Can confidently manage and inspire small groups of learners.
Applications from SEN Learning Support Assistants or Teaching Assistants without experience leading learning sessions are unlikely to be suitable for this position.
